Abstract: The National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) is acquired utilizing a USDA existing Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract administered by FSA-APFO to acquire digital ortho imagery during the agricultural growing seasons in the continental U.S. A primary goal of NAIP is to provide ortho imagery within a year of acquisition to all users. NAIP provides 1 meter ground sample distance (GSD) ortho imagery available in compressed county mosaic (CCM) and uncompressed 3.75¿¿¿¿ x 3.75¿¿¿¿ quarter quadrangle formats. Please note the NAIP imagery acquired may contain up to 10% cloud cover per DOQQ tile. Horizontal accuracy specifications are transitioning from a +/-5 meter accuracy relative to existing ortho imagery, to a +/-6 meter accuracy to true ground position (CE95).
Purpose: NAIP is intended for USDA FSA Field Office GIS users and cost sharing partners, who require current digital ortho imagery acquired during the agricultural growing season. Planned coverage is restricted to FSA required program areas (agricultural and other). Full coverage of state project areas can be achieved through cost share partnerships.
